History was introduced in our college as an optional subject right from the academic session 1964-65, which is the beginning of our college. Since then, it has been making satisfactory progress. The Department consists of a teacher having sixteen years of teaching experience.

The teacher is qualified having U.G.C. NET as his highest degree. The Head of the Department has actively participated in conferences, seminars, in his subject at University/State/National level. He has been assigned 20 periods per week and engaged classes of B.A. I, II, III.

He was involved with University work like valuation, Invigilation, in University Examination. He has a keen interest in works at social level like participation in blood donation camp, tree plantation, Gramswachhata Abhiyan, etc. He is also the associate Programme officer of NCC Department.
