About Department

"Founding vision by Shikshan Maharshi Bapusaheb Lakhanikar for rural students' enlightenment."

Samarth College, Lakhani, run by the Rashtriya Shikshan Sanstha, Lakhani, started its Undergraduate Department in 1997 and its Postgraduate Department in 2009.

Shikshan Maharshi Bapusaheb Lakhanikar, the founder of the institute, encouraged to start the Sanskrit subject and department with the noble intention of making the students of the rural areas aware and knowledgeable about the subject of Sanskrit.

From 1991 to 2003, the department was maintained by Dr. Ramchandra Arvikar. From December 6, 2005, to October 1, 2020, Prof. Dr. Chitra Chavade served as the head of the Sanskrit department.

Subhashit and Manache Shlokas are taken for daily prayers on behalf of this department. Also, Sanskrit Subhashita Recitation Competition, Storytelling Competition, Poetry Recitation Competition, Bhagavad Gita Verse Recitation Competition, Sanskrit Handwriting Competition, Manuscript Competition, Mind Verse Recitation Competition, and Sanskrit Subhashita Compilation Competition are conducted regularly.

Along with this, many seminars and workshops have been organized by the Sanskrit department.
