The Department of Commerce was introduced at the very inception of Samarth Mahavidyalaya in 1964. For over 60 years, it has remained a major faculty of the institution, often seeing a larger enrollment than the Arts faculty. In its early years, it was one of the largest departments with 6 full-time lecturers. While the team size evolved due to senior staff retirements, the department maintains its academic rigor with three full-time senior professors.

Meeting Higher Education Needs:

Historically, undergraduate students in the Lakhani area faced significant hurdles in pursuing post-graduation due to financial constraints and the lack of local PG colleges. Recognizing this, our Management and founder Principal launched M.Com. classes in the 1985-86 academic session. This initiative fulfilled a long-standing demand and has since provided countless students with the opportunity to pursue higher commercial studies locally.
